The Covid-19 epidemic broke out in December 2019 in Wuhan City, Hubei Province, China, and has now spread to almost all countries and territories, including Vietnam, directly threatening the health and lives of people and the safety and development of each country. The Covid-19 epidemic occurred at the transitional period between the old and new year, the time when many East Asian countries, including China and Vietnam, were preparing to celebrate the traditional New Year. While people were excited to shop for Tet and welcome spring, the leaders and employees of VINACS did not have a moment to rest as the epidemic situation continued to have complicated developments both domestically and internationally. With a proactive spirit, the entire VINACS system has taken drastic measures to prevent and control the Covid-19 epidemic from the very first days.

About epidemic prevention work at VINACS:

To protect the health of workers and prevent epidemics in airline catering, since January 22, 2020, when the Government officially announced the epidemic, implementing the Prime Minister's direction with the criterion "Fighting the epidemic like fighting the enemy", VINACS has promptly developed response plans, immediately issued and implemented epidemic prevention directives, warned the entire system about the danger of the epidemic, and at the same time raised awareness and consensus, unity in the entire organization, unit from the Board of Directors to employees, requiring all officers and employees to strictly implement the measures at both factories in Noi Bai, Cam Ranh, and branches in Cat Bi, Phu Quoc, in case of symptoms of the disease, they will be taken immediately to medical facilities for timely isolation and treatment; At the same time, workers are advised to proactively prevent diseases outside the factory by: wearing masks, avoiding unnecessary crowded places, maintaining personal hygiene, eating nutritious foods to increase the body's resistance. All employees and visitors entering and leaving the Company are instructed and required to wear masks, check body temperature, and disinfect hands. All employees of the Company must report for approval before traveling out of Hanoi and must report and declare their health status and travel schedule upon returning. All visitors to work are instructed to declare their health status, medical declaration, and travel history, personal contact for timely detection, isolation and treatment.

To prevent and destroy pathogens from entering and ensure safety for the system and society; all staff providing services and collecting services for flights from abroad and from epidemic areas must strictly comply with the provision of disposable protective clothing; all vehicles and containers from collected flights must be sprayed with disinfectant and isolated for at least 120 minutes before staff can come into direct contact.

In addition, a series of preventive measures such as: reviewing all sources of goods, only importing raw materials from safe areas with full food safety documents; isolating and disinfecting with ultraviolet rays all documents, transaction letters, cash, ... originating from outside at the Company gate before employees come into contact with them; strengthening sanitation and disinfection of the entire factory, equipment, and sanitation; disinfecting door handles and elevator buttons 02 hours/time/day; warning and requiring all suppliers to implement and demonstrate epidemic prevention measures at their facilities, ... All updated information on the Covid-19 situation at home and abroad, all directives of the Prime Minister, and directions of the National Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control are promptly updated and widely disseminated by the Board of Directors to all VINACS officers and employees throughout the system.

Regarding service and propaganda work to prevent Covid-19 epidemic:

With the spirit of "fighting the epidemic like fighting the enemy", VINACS was selected by the National Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control, the Hanoi People's Committee, the Ministry of Health and the Capital Command as a companion unit to prepare and provide meals and drinks for Covid-19 quarantine centers in Hanoi, including: Phap Van-Tu Hiep, Nam Tu Liem, Noi Bai.

The Covid-19 epidemic continues to have complicated developments. There have been Covid-19 patients and community infections in the country, causing dangerous outbreaks if not promptly controlled, even in places that are considered to have strict requirements for epidemic prevention and high hygiene requirements. The whole country has implemented the Prime Minister's directive to implement the first social distancing from 0:00 on April 1, 2020 for 14 days; hospitals: Bach Mai Hospital - the largest hospital in the country implemented a 14-day quarantine from March 28, 2029; Hanoi Kidney Hospital implemented a 14-day quarantine from April 10, 2020 after detecting a Covid-19 infected person and the spread of Covid-19 in the hospital. Once again, in the dangerous situation of the epidemic with no cure and social distancing; VINACS was chosen by the Ministry of Health, the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment, Bach Mai Hospital, Hanoi Kidney Hospital, University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital, etc. as a trusted supplier of all meals and drinks for the hospital system, from meals for medical staff, meals for all inpatients to meals for patients' relatives.

Beautiful actions:

In the country, when the first cases of Covid-19 tested positive, causing the whole community to worry and feel insecure, people rushed to buy medical masks, disinfectants, and stockpiled food and necessary items. Taking advantage of the situation, many individuals spread false rumors to cause panic in the community, creating a crisis mentality; many individuals and organizations hoarded goods, increased prices for profit, and acted inhumanely. In addition to the tension and anxiety of the whole society in the face of that danger, at VINACS, all officers and employees are still working day and night to prevent the epidemic and produce to promptly provide 3-6 meals/day for quarantine centers, major hospitals, and a number of agencies and departments with over 10,000 meals/day. Right at the "epicenter" of the epidemic, we can still see the image of "soldiers" wearing VINACS uniforms in tight protective gear against the epidemic, daring to face the dangers of infectious diseases, accepting to sacrifice personal interests, temporarily putting aside family affection and moments of gathering with family in the spring of the new year to "fight" with boxes of fresh, hot meals delivered to rooms, beds in quarantine areas and hospitals to care for and contribute to protecting the health and lives of people.

Hanoi and the whole country in those difficult historical days, when the entire political system and all people were united in fighting the epidemic; when the entire Party, all people, the Government, ministries, branches, the health system, the army, ... devoted all their efforts to come up with plans and implement actions to isolate and suppress the epidemic, the entire VINACS system joined in that urgent rhythm, providing all meals and drinks to the Ministry of Health Office to ensure the smooth operation of the frontline against the epidemic for quarantine centers, Vietnam Television VTV with the series "Unforgettable Days" to promote the prevention of the Covid-19 epidemic. In addition, in the spirit of supporting and joining hands to fight the epidemic, VINACS and its parent corporation TASECO have sponsored over 50,000 free meals for quarantine areas, over 5,000 meals for Hanoi Kidney Hospital, the Ministry of Health office and VTV, and provided free masks, medical gloves... to serve the epidemic prevention for flight crew and passengers on many flights of airlines, in the context of the market for medical equipment to prevent epidemics with very unusual fluctuations.

The silent work of the "VINACS soldiers" in the rear and on the front lines of the fight against the epidemic has left behind feelings of love and respect from everyone, contributing to spreading altruism and compassion in the community. The small actions, each image, each beautiful action of each VINACS officer and employee are multiplied every day, conveyed through individuals in quarantine areas, hospitals, and the media, sending messages of humanity and affection, lighting up trust, love, and hope for Covid-19 infected patients, cultivating and adding to the tradition of compassion of the Vietnamese people. With the regulations on epidemic prevention of the Ministry of Health, the Company and the strict compliance of VINACS officers and employees, in more than 9 months of serving medical facilities, quarantine centers and serving customers with international flights and flights to and from epidemic areas, absolute safety has been ensured, 100% of VINACS officers and employees have been absolutely safe in their service work.

Up to now, the Covid-19 epidemic in our country has been well controlled, many patients who tested positive for the virus have been treated, discharged from hospital, and returned to normal life, and the Covid vaccine has been approved and vaccinated in many places around the world. These positive signals are an effective "spiritual medicine" to reassure people's psychology, helping VINACS officers and employees feel secure in their work and production.
