Taseco Group accompanies the Livelihood Support Program for Mine Victims in A Luoi District, Thua Thien Hue Province

Comrade Ho Van Ngum, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of A Luoi district, said that A Luoi is a mountainous district on the western border of Thua Thien Hue province, one of the key areas heavily affected by post-war bombs, mines and explosives. By the end of 2022, the district had a total area of 2,981 hectares contaminated with bombs, mines and explosives, along with many bomb and mine victims. Over the past many years, the District Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee have directed the timely and effective implementation of support for bomb and mine victims. However, the lives of many victims are still very difficult.

To help A Luoi people feel secure in production and improve their lives, in the first phase of 2023, the Vietnam Association for Support in Overcoming Consequences of Bombs and Mines decided to provide livelihood support to 30 mine victims in particularly difficult circumstances in the locality with an amount of 200 million VND. Of which, 20 mine victims were given a support level of 6 million VND/person and 10 mine victims were given a support level of 8 million VND/person. This livelihood support amount is to help mine victims invest in livestock farming, purchase production and business tools to develop their family economy. At the same time, the Association also presented 20 bicycles with a total amount of 40 million VND to poor students who have overcome difficulties and some literature books, life skills books, and comic books on mine accident prevention and control to some libraries and schools in A Luoi. The total support amount for the first phase of 2023 in A Luoi district, Thua Thien Hue province is 240 million VND.
