TASECO Group supports the fund "For the poor" and social security of Hanoi city with 1 billion VND

Attending the program were leaders representing the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, central agencies; members of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee; members of the Standing Committee of the People's Council, leaders of the People's Committee, the City Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee; departments, branches, sectors, unions, member organizations of the City Fatherland Front; agencies, enterprises, philanthropists in the city; cadres, union members, and exemplary members of member organizations.

Ms. Nguyen Lan Huong - Member of the Standing Committee of the Hanoi Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Delegation, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi city spoke at the program.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, launching the Peak Month "For the Poor" and Social Security in 2024, Chairwoman of the Hanoi Fatherland Front Committee Nguyen Lan Huong said that in the first 9 months of the year, the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels in the capital city has allocated over 103 billion VND from the "For the Poor" Fund to support the construction and repair of 1,232 Great Solidarity houses. In particular, with the goal of eliminating 100% of dilapidated houses, the Hanoi Fatherland Front Committee has coordinated with the City People's Committee to support the construction and repair of houses for 714 poor households and households in difficult circumstances, practically celebrating the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital. Responding to the call "The whole country joins hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide from now until 2025" launched by the Government and the Presidium of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee, the Party Committee, government and people of the capital have also supported 15 provinces and cities to build 7,140 solidarity houses worth more than 317 billion VND. In addition, the "For the Poor" Fund at all city levels has supported production development for 1,634 households, supported 1,818 people to receive medical examination and treatment; 6,589 students from poor and disadvantaged households.

In early September, super typhoon Yagi caused severe damage to people and property in Hanoi and the northern provinces. The Vietnam Fatherland Front of the city quickly issued an appeal, receiving over 250 billion VND to support people affected by storms and floods; promptly advised the city leaders to visit and support people in the capital who suffered losses of over 13,571 billion VND to stabilize their lives and rebuild and repair houses that collapsed, damaged by the storm. With the spirit of "Hanoi for the whole country, with the whole country", Hanoi has supported 23 provinces, 930 students from the northern provinces who are poor, near-poor, and disadvantaged households studying in Hanoi whose families were affected by storm No. 3 with a total amount of 83.99 billion VND and goods and essential necessities worth 1.73 billion VND.

The launching ceremony also included a program to receive support from the city's "For the Poor" Fund; provide livelihood support to households; and honor 16 outstanding collectives with many contributions to poverty reduction and social security in 2023. Right at the ceremony, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city received support of 27.6 billion VND from agencies, businesses, units, organizations and individuals.

Promoting the spirit of "Mutual love and support", continuing the practical activities from previous years, this year, accompanying the program, Taseco Group has donated 1 billion VND with the desire to contribute a small part of the enterprise to support the poor and people in difficult circumstances, joining hands to realize the goal of supporting housing for poor and near-poor households; providing livelihoods, creating social security support, helping the poor have a better life and the opportunity to change their lives, thereby ensuring social security and sustainable development.

Not only stopping at social security activities in the capital, every year, Taseco always allocates funds from the Taseco Charity Fund to support and sponsor the construction of schools, charity houses, hunger eradication and poverty reduction, overcoming the consequences of natural disasters, storms and floods, and the consequences of bombs and mines in many localities. These are practical activities demonstrating social responsibility, spreading the spirit of sharing, "Joining hands to contribute love" of Taseco to the community and society.

Vice Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Duong Duc Tuan and Chairwoman of Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi Nguyen Lan Huong presented a letter of thanks to acknowledge the support of the units.

The People's Committee and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi City commended and honored 16 outstanding collectives and units that have made positive contributions to poverty reduction and social security in the City.
