On the morning of April 18, President Tran Dai Quang inspected the progress of the Da Nang International Passenger Terminal project at Da Nang International Airport. The President highly appreciated the efforts of the investor and contractors.
Preparing for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Forum - APEC 2017, in November 2015, the People's Committee of Da Nang City and the Ministry of Transport selected Da Nang International Terminal Investment and Operation Joint Stock Company ( AHT ) as the investor of the project " Construction of Da Nang International Passenger Terminal - Da Nang International Airport " in Hoa Thuan Tay Ward, Hai Chau District.
The project has a total investment of VND 3,504 billion. The design consultant is the CPG-ADCC-PAE Consulting Joint Venture (Singapore). CONINCO was selected as the supervision consultant.
The project started on November 15, 2015, the target to complete the project and put it into operation is May 2017. With a time frame of 18 months for construction and completion, this is not an easy task as the International Passenger Terminal project has a total construction floor area of up to 48,755 m2, including 2 elevations and many complex items, with high technical requirements.
After 17 months of continuous construction, with 2 shifts/day ( working from 6am to 11pm ), the Da Nang International Airport project has basically been completed. 
Within the terminal, 44 check-in counters have been completed; a system of 10 aircraft gates (4 telescopic gates, 6 bus gates) has been installed.
4 baggage conveyor belts are currently in the final testing phase; the departure gate police counters (20 gates) and the arrival gate police counters (22) are ready for operation.
Outside, departments are working hard to complete the path, shape the flower garden, install sign systems, etc., striving to complete before April 30.
To complete a huge amount of work, Da Nang International Terminal Investment and Operation Joint Stock Company mobilized maximum human and material resources to continuously construct from 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. every day, with a permanent force at the construction site of 1,000 - 1,500 engineers and workers.
The project takes full advantage of natural light sources.
Talking to Tien Phong reporter , Mr. Le Khac Hong, General Director of Da Nang International Terminal Investment and Operation Joint Stock Company - Project investor said: " With the number of passengers after being put into operation reaching 6 million/year, the project includes 2 elevations and many complex items, normally the investor needs 2 to 2.5 years to complete. However, with the Da Nang International Passenger Terminal project - Da Nang International Airport, we only set a target of 16 - 18 months to serve the APEC 2017 event".
Workers are rushing to complete the final items.

“During the construction process, we encountered many disadvantages due to the weather. However, with the efforts and high concentration of the units, the Da Nang International Airport project has now been basically completed, and is currently undergoing industrial cleaning to inaugurate and put into service for passengers, serving the preparation activities of the APEC Summit Week from May 19, 2017…”, said Mr. Le Khac Hong.
